Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy

The most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself

We talk, we laugh, I listen I guide to clear triggers and symptoms learning new tools and skills to create new foundations to move forward.”

Individual Counselling is about you.

You were born before your partnership and parenthood, unfortunately, most people namely women often put others before their own needs. Being aware of who you are and why you do the things you do, behave the way you do will ultimately support you to have stronger, happier relationships with the people you care about.
We have the time together where you can share your needs and wants in a very private and confidential setting. I listen to you very deeply and this in itself can be a unique experience of truly being heard and acknowledged.

It may be the first time you share your story. It may be having a safe place for you to let the tears flow.

You may have no idea why you are having a session, but you do know that you are not happy.

It is my job to meet you with compassion and understanding, I am committed to providing you with what you need from the individual session, and by the end of the session, we will have a clearer direction as to what is needed for you to reach your desired outcome.

Reasons Why People Seek Counselling

Feelings or behaviours that are confusing, frightening, or are holding you back.

Past events affecting your current happiness.

You are repeating unhealthy and unwanted patterns.

Being in a relationship a struggle.

Self-doubt or negative body image hold you back from feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Anxiety have control of your life.

A time to transform your relationship with yourself with a professional.

Issues for Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Hypnotherapy

I see counselling as important as having a car serviced,  you won’t notice there is a problem until the car is broken, then it’s off the road for an extended time which can be costly and inconvenient. The same thinking should apply to self-care, mental health, personal development.

Benefits to having therapy

Life is forever changing its a dance through life the music does change so we need to adjust our steps to flow with the music. New relationships, having babies, financial pressures, are a few things that create personal change, your world is different and if we cant adapt to these changes we will feel out of step.

The benefits of individual counselling are different for each client.

As a counsellor, I accept that each person is unique and take an individual approach for everyone. When we have a connection, we have awareness—and with knowledge, change will occur.

1. Get professional help

As a Therapist, I help create change,( but only for individuals who are ready and willing).  My skillset is deep and very effective on many issues,   I have personally experienced many of the issues my clients are coming to me for. My personal experiences, some good some not so good, have provided me with, understanding, empathy, wisdom, and gratitude as a therapist and as a woman.

2. Benefit from practical experience

Apart from having the academic certificates and years of practical experience as a therapist,  I have also had many personal life experiences:  suffering from very low confidence in my teens and having no idea who I was, losing my parents in my early twenties, losing four pregnancies, moving through the grief the most painful being the of the end of my 27-year marriage.

I have no regrets, non at all because all my experiences have contributed to me being the passionate therapist I am today and I wouldn’t change a thing.

3. Years of self-work, self-reflection

I am grateful for my 4 adult children and the joy they bring into my life.  After years of self-work, self-reflection, and seeking knowledge I can honestly say that I am truly happy and living my authentic life.

Transform the relationship with yourself then other relationships can change.

I am here to help you every step of the way!

Frequently Asked Questions

Holistic Counselling, Gestalt therapy, Psychotherapy, Family Constellations, and Clinical  Hypnotherapy.

The type of therapy I use with a client is dependant on their issues and their current situation.  It’s not always appropriate to use a certain therapy if the client is not ready, I will always work with my clients, meeting them where they are at in their current situation.

Marriage / relationship issues

Over the past 10 years, I have developed my skill set significantly, I see clients for a variety of issues and concerns.  I specialise in working with couples who are having relationship issues, these issues can anything from, anger issues, infidelity, lack of communication, earlier trauma or abuse, behavioural issues.

At times I have a client who is unclear on why they are seeing me or they have trouble describing what they feel.  This is perfectly fine, it’s my job to support you and guide you through this initial process.

My clients start from 18 years and above. However, I do see families as a whole and at times I  see the children individually but for more individual issues I recommend that parents take their children to a therapist that specialises in working with children.

No, appointments can be on a casual basis.

The work that I do is usually fast and effective this does depend on the situation and the individual but psychotherapy does resolve the issue at a core level then the trigger will no longer occur.  There are no promises with regards to timing its best to have your first session and I usually have a clearer answer then, once I have time to evaluate your situation.
